Beget the Bling!

Last night I stumbled across a very inspiring wedding blog, called Offbeat Bride. I was doing some research on alternative weddings for some new ideas, and found myself scrolling through photographs, stories and vendors for the better part of three hours! There was such great stuff! The most popular wedding go-to-guide I've heard of, is The Knot. But other than it's very helpful Budgeter, I find it to be not so great for the couple who's budget is ringing in around $5,000 or so. It may be that you have a small budget, don't want to blow all your money on one day, or are just looking for some off-the-grid ideas, so if that is the case, Offbeat Bride may be more your thing!

Through this blog, I discovered a really fantastic idea for couples who want to put some muscle into the ring-discovering process - that is, by making their own! Through the Wedding Ring Workshop, you can as a couple work together to create your rings with the help of a trained professional. The styles of each couple's rings vary and you wouldn't believe that they were actually made be you and your significant other! And best of all - all of their metals are recycled! Michael and I were lucky enough to find a location right here in Seattle, but there are locations all over the place (not just in the states!). It usually lasts about 5-6 hours, and in cost of your experience, both rings, a bottle of champagne (to celebrate such a task!), a disposable camera documenting the day, and a working lunch are all included! Making rings, sipping champagne - now that's what I'm talking about! A great way to start a brand new journey.

  1. This is a wonderful idea!! I've always been more a fan of the plain band idea, and it's such a beautiful way to begin a relationship- taking part in the whole preocess together!!
